When purchasing earrings, you need to be aware of your size preference, so you are not buying jewellery which doesn't suit. If you have a favourite pair of earrings, measure them. If they are 40mm long, then you probably need to find new earrings of a similar length - perhaps 35-45mm. I've checked the size listed for these earrings and the measurement is correct at 24mm long by 12mm wide.
