"Apatite" comes from the greek word "apatao" which means "to fool or deceive".  Apatite has often been confused with stones of similar colours - hence its name.

Apatite comes in a variety of colours depending on its chemical composition from green, pink or yellow.  However, blue Apatite remains the most popular.

In terms of the metaphysical, Apatite is said to allow expansion of knowledge and stimulates the intellect.  It is said to allow the wearer to seek a deeper reflection into self and aid in inner clarity.
