1. Stud Earrings
Stud Earrings have long been a popular choice and one of the most common selections when it comes to gifts for women.
It's often the style of earring that is worn when ears are first pierced.
The straight shaft is easy to insert and most women find them comfortable.
They tend to sit close to the ear lobe. The most common fitting at the back of stud earrings is the butterfly clip.

2. Huggies & Hoops Earrings
The hoop earring is another classic style which never seems to date.
Any earring which is circular in shape can be described as a hoop earring.
These can be small gold earrings that could be worn to work or evening - or large bohemian style earrings that are worn to be seen.
Huggies have become very popular in recent years. These earrings are named for the way in which they seem to "hug" the ear.

3. Drop or Dangle Earrings
Earrings which have movement are always desired for their ability to reflect the light off elements such as gold, silver or Swarovski crystals.
Dangle or drop earrings, as the word says, hang from the ear fitting.
This style is very versatile. You can wear it with a casual, funky or elegant outfit.

4. French Hook Earrings
The French Hook style earring is a bent wire which is threaded through the ear lobe from which the earring dangles.
Components of the earring usually hang from the end of the "hook".
These earrings are easy to insert as there is no butterfly clip or connector to work with.
The hook is simply threaded through the ear lobe and moved into place.
They are very easy to wear - and to take off. Just slip them in and go!

5. Threader Earrings
The threader earring style is very easy to wear and extremely comfortable.
The "threader" is a metal shaft attached to a chain, which is then attached to the earring.
As the name implies, the "threader" is passed through the ear lobe and the chain is adjusted to the required length.
This earring is versatile in that the earrings can be worn long or short, depending on how far through the ear the chain is pulled.
