So, you need to buy something for the wife, girlfriend, assistant, sister, mother, daughter, niece, cleaning lady or other?
Jewellery is always a great gift idea. It's not like a toothbrush, where you only need one which you need to replace every now and again. Jewellery is collectable and you need different pieces for different outfits. A good selection of jewellery is esentially to any woman's wardrobe.
So, here are a few tips to help you choose the right piece.
The first important piece of advice is to take a look at what she is wearing now. Is she a yellow-gold, rose-gold or silver wearer?
This will help to narrow your search down by a third and you only need to browse through jewellery with that metal. (Note: silver jewellery covers; platinum, white-gold and silver - they all look a silvery colour.)
If you wish to browse through the different metal types to look for gifts, try these collections:
Is she traditional or have more modern in tastes. Modern jewellery tends to have simple, clean lines. If she is "modern" - Frenelle has a collection for this - click HERE
Take note of the jewellery she is currently wearing. Does she like a particular style of earring and tends to only wear that type?
For instance (and links are provided to each collection to make it easier to find)
These are small and have a post which fits through the ear lobe - click HERE
These are circular in shape - click HERE
Note: Huggie style earrings are also in this collection. The top part of the earring is "closed" like a hoop, but may have another element dangling below the hoop.
These earrings hang below the ear lobe and ususally have some movement to them.
Again, sort out whether the woman in your life prefers yellow-gold, rose-gold or silver and work from there.
With necklaces, length is important. Does she prefer short, medium or long necklaces. Take notice next time she is wearing one to see what length it is. Take a tape measure and check the length when she is not around.
If you are unable to do that, Frenelle does have a blog on "What is the ideal necklace length" - click HERE
The standard length most commonly purchased by Frenelle's customers is 45cm.
The tricky part with purchasing a ring is knowing the recipient's ring size. How do you do that if you are working on surprising them?
Well, you might consider an adjustable ring. To view Frenelle's collection of adjustable rings - click HERE
When you open a gift of jewellery, it needs to look classy! Check the jewellery you are buying is going to come well presented in a jewellery box. Don't buy from a seller who is simply going to wrap it in tissue paper and bubble wrap this isn't going to impress anyone!
Frenelle offers 3 types of jewellery boxes
One for standard earrings, bracelets and brooches
One for rings
One for larger pieces of jewellery
The best piece of advice is "Whatever you buy, DON'T leave it to the last minute!"
